WHAT WE DO
The Frederick County Sheriff's Office exists to serve the community. Service to our community is our primary responsibility. We understand that we are one of the few agencies of government that never closes, and therefore, may be called upon to perform many different tasks for the community. If we are unable to provide a requested service, we will recommend an appropriate action or agency. We will always strive to professionally and enthusiastically respond to the community's needs.
Our community is extremely important to us. We serve the more than 250,000 citizens of Frederick County, Maryland - in close proximity to two large metropolitan cities. 30 miles to our east is Baltimore, and 30 miles to our south is Washington, D.C. Frederick County is a very beautiful, diverse, and safe county in which to live and raise a family. The Sheriff’s Office takes great pride in maintaining our community's excellent reputation for law and order and are dedicated to provide a quality and professional service to all those that live, work and travel within our jurisdictional boundaries.
