OUR VISION
The Frederick County Sheriff's Office is committed to providing services that are fair, impartial and effective while holding employees to the highest standards of efficiency, morality and professionalism. The Sheriff's Office is comprised of skilled dedicated professionals, striving to be proactive, rather than reactive where possible. We are responsible and accountable to each other as well as the public we serve. We believe in God, ourselves, our country, state and county. We believe in the concept of continuous improvement in all our endeavors, always striving to be the best we can be.
WHAT WE DO
The Frederick County Sheriff's Office exists to serve the community. Service to our community is our primary responsibility. We understand that we are one of the few agencies of government that never closes, and therefore, may be called upon to perform many different tasks for the community. If we are unable to provide a requested service, we will recommend an appropriate action or agency. We will always strive to professionally and enthusiastically respond to the community's needs.
OUR COMMUNITY
Our community is extremely important to us. We serve the more than 280,000 citizens of Frederick County, Maryland - in close proximity to two large metropolitan cities. 30 miles to our east is Baltimore, and 30 miles to our south is Washington, D.C. Frederick County is a very beautiful, diverse, and safe county in which to live and raise a family. The Sheriff’s Office takes great pride in maintaining our community's excellent reputation for law and order and are dedicated to provide a quality and professional service to all those that live, work and travel within our jurisdictional boundaries.
MISSION STATEMENT
The Frederick County Sheriff's Office is a full-service law enforcement agency, an arm of the court, and a keeper of offenders. In this regard it exists to serve all the people within Frederick County with respect, fairness, and compassion. The Sheriff's Office is committed to the prevention of crime; the protection of life and property; the preservation of peace and order; the enforcement of laws and ordinances; the safeguarding of constitutional guarantees; and safekeeping of prisoners.
The foundation is community service, with goals to enhance the quality of life, investigating problems as well as incidents, seeking solutions and fostering a sense of security in communities and individuals. The men, women, and officers of this office nurture public trust by holding themselves to the highest standards of performance and ethics.
To fulfill this mission, the Frederick County Sheriff's Office provides a quality work environment and the development of its members through training, education and leadership.
