Deputies Investigating Theft at High’s in New Market

NEW MARKET, Md. (June 20, 2025)—At approximately 2:15 a.m. on June 20, 2025, Frederick County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the High’s convenience store located at 11780 Old National Pike in New Market for a reported theft.


Upon arrival, deputies learned that three suspects, described as Black males wearing black ski masks and gloves, entered the store and ordered employees to step away from the counter. One suspect physically grabbed a store employee by the shirt and moved them aside.


The suspects then went behind the counter and began filling black trash bags with cartons of cigarettes. Approximately $7,700 worth of cigarette cartons were stolen before the suspects fled the scene.
