Fatal Collision on Route 85 Under Investigation

FREDERICK, Md. (April 28, 2026) – On Monday, April 27, 2026, at approximately 10:00 p.m., deputies with the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) and personnel from the Division of Fire and Rescue Services (DFRS) responded to the area of northbound Route 85 and Spectrum Drive for a reported two-vehicle collision.

Upon arrival, deputies determined that a 2019 Suzuki motorcycle, operated by Christoph Kenny, 23, of Ijamsville, had rear-ended a 2013 Honda passenger vehicle.

Kenny was thrown from the motorcycle and sustained serious injuries. DFRS personnel immediately administered life-saving measures; however, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the Honda was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident. Anyone with information regarding this collision is asked to contact Sgt. Rector at 301-600-6490.
