Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision – Old Frederick Road & Devilbiss Bridge Road

LEWISTOWN, Md. (June 6, 2025)—On Thursday, June 5, 2025, at approximately 9:00 a.m., deputies from the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office, along with personnel from Frederick County Fire and Rescue and Frederick County Fire Police, responded to a reported motor vehicle collision with injuries at the intersection of Old Frederick Road and Devilbiss Bridge Road in Lewistown.
Preliminary investigation by the Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit indicates that a 2015 Toyota Highlander, driven by Willie Hensley Jr., 78, of Thurmont, MD, was turning south onto Old Frederick Road from Devilbiss Bridge Road when it entered the path of a northbound 1999 Mack dump truck, resulting in a collision at the intersection.
Hensley was pronounced deceased at the scene by Frederick County Fire and Rescue personnel. A passenger in the Toyota sustained serious injuries and was airlifted by Maryland State Police helicopter to a trauma center, where they are currently listed in stable condition. The driver of the dump truck was evaluated at the scene and declined medical treatment.
Hensley’s body has been transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for further examination.
