FCSO Identifies Victim in Fatal House Fire in Myersville

 

MYERSVILLE, Md. (October 10, 2024) – The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) has identified the victim in the Saturday, October 5, 2024, fatal fire in the 11000 block of Highland School Road as the homeowner, Robert Raymond Cole, 67, of Myersville. FCSO deputies have made next-of-kin notifications.


Frederick County Fire and Rescue Services were called for reports of a house fire at approximately 9:12 PM on October 5, 2024.  When FCSO Deputies arrived at that location they were advised that Cole was removed from the home and pronounced dead by Emergency Medical Services at the scene.


The Fire Marshal’s Office has classified the fire’s cause as “undetermined” due to the amount of heat sources found inside the residence. At this time, there is no indication of foul play.
