FCSO Investigates Fatal Collision in Mount Airy

FREDERICK, Md. (August 29, 2025)—On Thursday, August 28, 2025, at approximately 6:16 p.m., deputies from the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) responded to assist the Mount Airy Police Department with a reported fatal motor vehicle collision at the intersection of W. Ridgeville Boulevard and the Mount Airy Village Shopping Center.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a Honda motorcycle traveling westbound and a Volkswagen Jetta traveling eastbound collided when the Jetta attempted to make a left turn. The operator of the motorcycle, identified as Nicholas Main, 43, of Mount Airy, Maryland, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The operator of the passenger car remained on scene, along with multiple witnesses.
The FCSO will handle the investigation. The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who witnessed the crash or who has information related to this incident to contact DFC Reggio at 301-600-1046.
