The two officers involved in the shooting are CPL Alex Mendez of the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office and OFC Connor Walsleben of the Frederick City Police Department.

On Thursday Evening August 1, 2024, just before midnight, Deputies were dispatched in an attempt to locate 45-year-old Jack Edgar Primmer, of Freedom, PA, wanted on a Felony Warrant out of Beaver County Pennsylvania for Child Sexual Assault and Abuse charges believed to be in the Frederick area.  Deputies located the vehicle associated with the Primmer at the Super 8 Hotel on Monocacy Blvd in Frederick City.  It was confirmed that Primmer was registered at the hotel and a room was identified.
