Four Suspects Charged in Armed Robbery Investigation

FREDERICK, Md. (April 21, 2026) –The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office has charged four individuals in connection with an armed robbery that occurred earlier this year in Frederick.
On February 19, 2026, deputies began investigating a reported armed robbery that occurred earlier that day in the 7200 block of Corporate Court in Frederick. The victim advised that he was approached by two male suspects and robbed at gunpoint. During the incident, the suspects stole a handgun along with other personal property.
As part of a separate firearms investigation, detectives recovered the stolen handgun while serving a search warrant on March 5, 2026, in the 100 block of West South Street in Frederick.
Through the course of the investigation, detectives identified four individuals involved in the robbery and obtained arrest warrants charging them with Armed Robbery, Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery, and Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony/Violent Crime:
· Demarion Lazivior Scott, 17, of Frederick, MD (charged as an adult)
· Josiah Dante James-Moore, 18, of Frederick, MD
· Deantoine Orrin Gaines Jr., 21, of Frederick, MD
· Sherria Monet Teasley, 18, of Frederick, MD
Scott and James-Moore were already in custody on unrelated firearms charges at the time the warrants were issued.
On April 9, 2026, detectives executed search warrants in the 1700 block of Dogwood Drive and the 7100 block of Gresham Court East in Frederick. Deantoine Gaines was taken into custody at the Dogwood Drive address. During the search, detectives recovered a Polymer80 ‘ghost gun’ handgun without a serial number from Gaines’s bedroom. Additional evidence related to the robbery was located at the Gresham Court East address.
On April 16, 2026, detectives located and arrested Sherria Monet Teasley on her outstanding warrant.
In addition to the charges related to the armed robbery, Deantoine Gaines has been charged with possession of a firearm without a serial number.
