Four Suspects from D.C. Arrested After Stolen Vehicle Pursuit in New Market

NEW MARKET, Md. (May 26, 2025) —Four suspects from Washington, D.C. have been arrested following a theft from motor vehicle investigation and pursuit that resulted in multiple crashes and a Frederick County Sheriff’s Office deputy being transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
At approximately 3:26 a.m. on Sunday, May 25, 2025, a Sheriff’s Office deputy attempted to stop several individuals suspected of tampering with vehicles in the area of Jordan Boulevard in New Market. The suspects fled in two separate vehicles. The deputy then pursued the vehicles.
One of the vehicles, a 2017 Subaru Outback later confirmed stolen out of Carroll County, crashed off Mussetter Road after striking a tree. The pursuing deputy’s cruiser was also involved in a crash and became disabled. The deputy sustained minor injuries and was transported to Frederick Health Hospital for evaluation.
The second fleeing vehicle, a 2012 Toyota Camry, lost control and struck a parked, marked patrol vehicle with its emergency lights activated. The deputy had exited the vehicle moments before the impact and was not injured.
A coordinated search for additional suspects was conducted with assistance from the Maryland State Police, Frederick Police Department, Montgomery County Police, and the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office.
