Frederick Man Arrested on Charges of Sexual Solicitation of a Minor

FREDERICK, Md. (February 18, 2026) – Today, the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit arrested a Frederick man following an investigation related to the sexual solicitation of a minor.

The investigation began after the ICAC Task Force received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) regarding an adult male who was communicating with and sexually soliciting an identified 13-year-old child.

Through investigative efforts, detectives were able to identify the suspect as Steven Danko, 37, of Frederick.

On February 18, members of the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office and the ICAC Task Force executed a search warrant at Danko’s residence in the 5000 block of Merganser Court in Frederick. Numerous electronic devices were seized as evidence as part of the ongoing investigation.

Danko was transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center, where he was charged with nine counts of sexual solicitation of a minor.
