Man Arrested Following Commercial Burglary

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

FREDERICK, Md. (January 23, 2026) —On January 22, 2026, at approximately 11:34 p.m., FCSO deputies responded to a report of a theft at Tire World, located at 5702 Industry Lane. A deputy observed a white cargo van leaving the area and attempted a traffic stop. During the stop, a passenger exited the vehicle and fled on foot into a wooded area. The suspect was apprehended after a brief foot pursuit and identified as 38-year-old Daniel McVicker.
The cargo van, containing numerous stolen tires and bolt cutters, was later found abandoned in a nearby parking lot. Approximately 30–40 tires, valued at about $8,000, were taken from Tire World, and the storefront window sustained an estimated $1,000 in damage.
Deputies also discovered a nearby shipping container belonging to Mobile Tire that had been forcibly entered. At least eight tires, valued at approximately $2,000, were reported stolen. Locks on the shipping container and a company vehicle were cut, causing additional property damage.
McVicker was transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention. The driver of the van was not located, and the investigation remains ongoing.
McVicker is charged with the following:
· Two counts of Second-Degree Burglary (Felony)
· Two counts of Fourth-Degree Burglary – Store (Misdemeanor)
· Two counts of Fourth-Degree Burglary – Theft (Misdemeanor)
· One count of Fourth-Degree Burglary – Possession of Tools (Misdemeanor)
· One count of Possession of Burglary Tools in a Motor Vehicle (Misdemeanor)
· One count of Rogue and Vagabond (Misdemeanor)
· Two counts of Theft ($1,500 to under $25,000) (Felony)
· One count of Malicious Destruction of Property ($1,000 or more) (Misdemeanor)
· One count of Malicious Destruction of Property (less than $1,000) (Misdemeanor)
· One count of Resisting or Interfering with Arrest (Misdemeanor)
· One count of Obstructing and Hindering (Misdemeanor)
