Suspect Arrested in Early Morning Sheetz Robbery

FREDERICK, Md. (September 24, 2025)- Today, at approximately 3:22 a.m., deputies with the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Sheetz convenience store located at 6050 Buckeystown Pike in Frederick.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect entered the store, appeared to have a gun under his shirt, threatened the store clerk, and demanded cash before running out of the store.

A coordinated search effort involving both FCSO and the Frederick Police Department (FPD) was initiated.

Officers located a man matching the suspect’s description nearby on Center Street and Washington Street. The individual attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended without incident. It was later determined the suspect did not have a gun.

The suspect has been identified as Jerry Garrett Piercy, 65, of Frederick. He was taken into custody and transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center.

Piercy has been charged with the following:

• Armed Robbery (CR.3.403)

• Robbery (CR.3.402)

• Theft: $100 to under $1,500 (CR.7.104)
