UPDATE: Suspect in Urbana High School Trespassing & Assault Charged

 

FREDERICK, Md. (September 24, 2024) – UPDATE #2: The suspect involved in the trespassing and assault incident at Urbana High School on September 17, 2024, is Ronald Nathaniel Steward, 34, of Frederick, MD.

 

Steward is now being held at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center. Deputies have charged Steward as follows:

ASSAULT – SECOND DEGREE

FREDERICK, Md. (September 17, 2024) UPDATE #1: The suspect has been identified and was transported to a local hospital for evaluation. Criminal charges are pending against the suspect. We will provide further information as we can. Thank you to the community for your assistance.

FREDERICK, Md. (September 17, 2024) – Today, at approximately 11 AM, a suspicious man entered Urbana High School through an exterior door. While inside, a staff member noticed the individual and escorted him back outside. As the staff member was closing the door, he was assaulted by the suspect.  The suspect then left the campus. No students or other staff were harmed by the individual. The School Resource Officer was immediately contacted and began investigating.

Frederick County Sheriff’s deputies are now searching for the suspect in the photo. There will be additional FCSO deputies in the Urbana area for school dismissal today.
